Heidi Fardell is a recorder specilaist and teacher. Heidi teaches the recorder and various wind ensembles at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance Junior department and has over ten continuous years of recorder, flute and theory teaching experience in primary and secondary schools in London Boroughs, Oxfordshire and privately at home.
Heidi is a freelance performer in both early and contemporary genres both as a soloist and in ensembles. She regularly performs with early music groups 'The Saltarello Ensemble' and 'Fiori Musicali' performing programmes such as 'Vivaldi's Venice, 'The Art of the Recorder' 'Music from the Royal Courts of Poland', 'The Scandinavian Connection' and 'Music from the reign of George I & II, at concert venues across London, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.
Heidi is a founder member of 'The Saltarello Ensemble' and works with various members of the ensemble to devise and deliver music workshops, tailor made for each client. Workshop clients have included Kensington Palace, The Handel House Museum, The Tate Britain and The National Gallery.
Heidi performs and records with many contemporary artists such as Icons of Elegance and Marlowe. She also composes and improvises for London based 'Assembly Cinema' playing original scores for silent films. Contemporary performance highlights include Assembly Cinema Berlin and Copenhagen, The Meltdown Festival (Jarvis Cocker) RFH, and MiE by Catherine Kontz.
Heidi graduated from Goldsmiths University with both Mmus and Bmus degrees specialising in performance. She has studied the recorder with Louise Bradbury, Dan Laurin, Katriina Boosey and Peter Holtslag.
